It looks like the Intermenno Trainee Program is coming to an end.

I don't know if anyone is still posting to this forum, but if any one has a contact for a IMT from
1973-74, they can post it here.

10. You've watched the Simpsons in German and hated it.

11. You've ordered more than one Kugel of Eis a day...everyday...

look at us using the intermenno forum!! i think we need to really push the coolness of this page so that we all use it more.

just 3 more months!! how is everyone feeling about the end quickly approaching? sad? ready? for me it's kinda mixed. 2 years not seeing the friends and family back home is a long time. i can't wait to see how big all the little buggers are, and catch up with all the friends. and start a new part of my life which (hopefully) doesnt involve doing lots of dishes 7 hours a day. but there are many things i'm gonna miss about life here, and people i'm going to miss.

Current Mood: amused the forum is awesome

So apparently I do have an animal storey to share with you guys after all. Soo... I was taking a shower and reaching for my shampoo. As I  picked up my shampoo I felt this SHARP stinging pain at the tip of my finger, so  naturally I dropped the shampoo and cursed like a sailor. I then looked down at my sore finger and saw that it was not bleeding or cut, but was just really red and stinging like a bitch. So I looked down at the floor and  then saw the cause of the problem.... somehow a whasp had gotten into our shower and stung the f'n crap out of my finger. Sniff sniff... my finger still hurts....

So since we're having story time I thought I'd join in.  Unfortunately I'm going to leave the farm animal stories out, I have been injured by barnyard animals way too many times and the memories are too unbearable to bring up..... I just thought I'd give you all an update on what some of us trainees and I have been up to lately. Susie and Suzanne came and visited me at the 'rode two weeks ago. And we have discovered a few things, 1.  that Suzanne definitely knows how to use her tongue (She must exercise it or something...) 2. Chantel and Susie should never head bang again (talk about neck pain!) and 3. All three of us have fallen in love with techno (has anyone else started liking techno since coming to Europe?).  Mathew and I flew to London last week, where he bought a Joda backpack (which is REALLY kick ass), and I hung out with a random girl named Michaela who's pretty cool. We then all flew to Krakow where we met up with Suzanne and Susie. We stayed at this great hostel that celebrated easter with us by providing us with eggs and painting supplies for easter egg painting, as well as free easter supper and bfast, good times! Of course we also went to Auschwitz, which was really depressing, but definitely a good thing to go see. On a happier note, between me, Susie, and Suzanne we are about half way to conquering the world!!! So what is everyone else up to these days??? Oh and my friend Ashton will be coming to visit me and will still be here when John is having his party in June, is it alright with everyone if she comes too??? If not plz let me know!

A few weeks ago I was riding home from work at about 10:30 pm or so, and I was in a really really good mood- it was a calm night, I could see the stars and I was the only one on the road or bike path. At one point when I'm biking through farm-land, I go behind a house with a bit of a yard at the back. I never really took notice of it until I biked behind it on the aforementioned night, kind of in my own little dream world, when suddenly a goat thats standing in the yard of the house bleated really loudly about a metre away from me. I veered really violently because it scared me so much (almost into the ditch, luckily my q uick reflexes and bike skills prevented that from happening), and then turned around to look at the goat, who was staring me down by the light of the moon (and my bike lamp). At this point, the hilarity of the situation caught up to me and I laughed myself silly, probably to the amusement of the people that lived in the house I was beside. Now, whenever I bike by that house I look for my goat friend, a little black one with a white spot on his back. Or her back. I still need a name for him/her though. Ideas?

Story time! This thing needs to see some more action.

So new things in my life: I was lonely because Keith was gone this weekend so I took a walk. There is a little area close to our apartment that recently has new lambs. Being the sucker for baby animals that I am, I went for a visit. I did my animal call and was instantly the attention of all of the lambs, it was süß. They were so close that I even got to pet one of them. And then the bastard bit me. He full out tried to take a piece of my god damned finger off. I've never been so angry at a baby thing in my entire life. So the moral of the story is, don't trust sheep. Or pigs, I had the same thing happen when I was a kid. So I guess the real moral of the story is don't trust barn animals in general.

Share you painful/hilarious stories with the group.

p.s. Cloven in twain is the greatest saying ever, but how does one say that in the future form? Cleven in twight?

Hey Everyone!
This is my first time using this.... very exciting. So anyways... I finally gt my ass out of neutral and join the intermenno community and I see that no one even uses it! Whats the deal? Anyway... the question I need to ask. A friend of mine is coming to visit for a month or so between May and June and is wanting to travel to Spain, France, etc...  Obviously since I am a trainee I do not have the money or holiday time to allow for that, so I was wondering if any of you who would like to go traveling with her for a bit. If so let me know....

jeez, its been quite the while since anyone decided to post on this page, ive almost stopped checking it. i cant say that i have anything good to post, but i'll give it a shot. so the other day i was in the bar and there was free beer and bar food, i know good deal right? i grabbed a kaas souffle- a battered lump of deep fried cheese, i dont know if you have them in germany/switzerland- and as i bit into it the hot cheese came out and burned my lip quite badly. it was like being kicked in the crotch by someone you thought was coming to hug you. dirty trick. im now off deep fried cheese. so in the intrest of conversation, any other terrible food mishaps out there?
